This sailor's mackerel was drawn at my dining table and, by the way, it is not the first mackerel that has lay there. I got the idea for the design after a visit to Klitmøller. Here I wondered that there along the water's edge several hundred mackerel lay on land. I asked one of the locals about the phenomenon, and he said that it is because the mackerel are being chased by full-fat cod and in a last resort escape attempt, simply choosing to jump out of the water and onto land. If that's true, there can't be go many years before ma the krel evolutionarily adapts to the local environment. The first step must therefore be buying a sweater and top hat. Growing arms and legs must be the next step.
