Designer Lasse Kornum tells:

The design was drawn on Sao Miguel and colored on Santa Maria in the Azores. There is nothing better than drawing under the open sky, and this design is the culmination of an absolutely glorious design process. The surroundings were wonderful to say the least, the audio book I heard was fantastic and at the same time, in the process, there was an evolution in my design expression. I became more comfortable with water colors and for the first time added the little 'shadow dots' on the subject that you now see on many of our designs. Sometimes happiness is found in the little things. The design expression, on what looks like a life-experienced and balanced puffin, is therefore in stark contrast to the ecstatic childlike joy I had in making the motif. It's not necessarily the best design I've ever made, but it's the best feeling I've had while making a design.
